Memory Care

Memory Care

In addition to offering general psychotherapy and counseling services, Senior Support Network has developed a memory care program specific to the needs of individuals in senior living communities. The program focuses on the support and treatment of cognitive decline, memory loss, and early signs of dementia. Our clinical psychologists provide initial cognitive testing to develop appropriate treatment plans and provide suggested courses of intervention. Ongoing assessments are conducted to ensure a continuum of care and monitoring of progress. Memory training sessions are provided by licensed social workers, trained in identifying and treating deficits in cognitive functioning that can impact memory, attention, and problem solving skills. A comprehensive collaboration of care is organized between clinicians, family members, ALC staff, and other treating physicians. Cognitive rehabilitation and memory training interventions can help empower individuals to take a proactive approach to cognitive health. For individuals with advanced memory impairments, Alzheimer’s Screenings, Neurobehavioral Assessments, and/or Neuropsychological Evaluations may be recommended to assess one’s executive functioning.
